Have you found a job that suits you? Then you are sure to want to know how to apply and what steps are involved before you can start to work for us. The following gives a brief overview of the general application procedure followed at UKER. The actual procedure may vary slightly depending on which area you apply for. If you have any questions, please contact the relevant point of contact.
Your online application
Are you interested in a job vacancy or completing an apprenticeship at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen? We look forward to receiving your application via our online application system. All you need to do is to click in the vacancy on the button “apply now” (jetzt bewerben) and upload your contact data and all your application documents – it’s as easy as that. You will receive e-mail confirmation once we receive your documents.
Good to know:
Once you have sent off your online application, you can access your applicant profile at any time and change your data or add additional documents.
Your first interview
We check all the applications we receive and draw up a shortlist of potential candidates. If we would like to find out more about you, you will be invited to a job interview. Generally speaking, the interview is held at our hospital which allows you to get an idea of your workplace at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen and meet your future points of contact.
Unfortunately, we are not usually able to reimburse any costs you may incur for attending the interview.
Your second interview
Depending on the size of the area you are applying for and the structures in that area, you may be invited to a second interview if you successfully pass the first interview. This is attended by other points of contact from UKER, which allows let them get to know you better and helps give you a better idea of the area where you would be working.
Preparing employment documents
Have you convinced us? Have we convinced you? After you accept our offer, we progress to the next step: preparing all the documents you need for employment. As an employer in the public service, we need a lot of information from you, and we will give you several documents for you to complete. Please fill them out, sign them and return them to our human resources department.
Involvement of Staff Council
If the Staff Council is involved, they are entitled to what is known as co-determination rights. This means that our Staff Council is informed about your recruitment process and checks whether they agree with you being employed. They have two weeks in which to decide. The Staff Council is usually quick to tell us their decision taken during one of their meetings.
Signing your contract
After carefully checking all your documents, we draw up your employment contract and forward it to you for signing. We either mail it to your home address or your point of contact at the human resources department will ask you to make an appointment and come in person to the human resources department.
